Chippa to dent Dikwena's strong start?

Cape Town - Platinum Stars will look to continue their strong form in the Absa Premiership when they host Chippa United at Moruleng Stadium.

Stars racked up a second successive league victory when they won 2-1 at Jomo Cosmos on September 13.

The Rustenburg side has claimed four points from their two home matches so far this season.

Dikwena are placed fourth on the Absa Premiership log with eight points from four matches.

Chippa suffered their second loss of the season when they went down 2-0 away to Free State Stars on September 12.

The Eastern Cape side has lost both of their two away matches so far this season.

The Chilli Boys are placed 11th on the Absa Premiership log with four points from as many matches.

In head-to-head stats, Stars and Chippa have met in four league matches since 2012/13.

The Chilli Boys have an unbeaten record in the sequence, with two wins and two draws to their name.

Both of Stars’ two home matches against Chippa have ended in draws: 1-1 in 2012/13 and 0-0 in 2014/15.

Last season the Chilli Boys took four points off Dikwena, winning 2-0 at home in the first half of the season before holding out for a goalless draw in the return match.

Chippa’s Andile Mbenyane scored three goals in as many games against Stars until the teams’ goalless draw last term.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Tuesday, September 22.
