Cape Town - Chippa United put four goals past a 10-man University of Pretoria thanks to efforts from the impressive Mark Mayambela, Eric Chipeta, Nkosinathi Mthiyane and Lerato Manzine in their Absa Premiership game at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
It was AmaTuks who started the brightest when Ethiopian international forward Getaneh Kebede had the first chance at goal, but he missed to the left of the target after 13 minutes.
And the fans had to wait until 31 minutes for the next real chance at goal when Chippa’s Rhulani Manzini fired in a shot, but Washington Arubi saved easily.
But soon enough Chippa found the opener through Mark Mayambela who got onto the end of a Rhulani Manzini delivery to head in the opener, giving Chippa a 1-0 lead.
AmaTuks were dealt a serious blow after Vukile Mnqibisa was sent for an early shower. After a foul involving Erick Chipeta and Mngqibisa, the Tuks player retaliated and was shown a red card for a second bookable offence.
Then Eric Chipeta dusted himself off and finished with a powerful penalty kick to make it 2-0 after a foul by goalkeeper Washington Arubi on Nkosinathi Mthiyane.
Then ex-AmaZulu player Nkosinathi Mthiyane put his header past Arubi to hand Chippa United a 3-0 lead before Lerato Manzini netted a fourth goal thanks to good work by Mayambela.
