Chippa showoff new-look squad

Cape Town - Chippa United has unveiled a beefed-up squad for the 2015/16 season at a press conference held in Cape Town. 

The Port Elizabeth-based outfit has secured the services of ten new players in an effort to cement its place in the Premier Soccer League.

The club confirmed that they intend to further strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. 

The Chilli Boys also confirmed that Botswana-born David Bright will assume the role of assistant coach. Bright is considered to be one of Botswana’s most successful coaches, having led the Mogoditsane Fighters to three consecutive Premier League titles from 1999 to 2001.

The team also revealed successful sports-brand PUMA as its new apparel partner. 

New signings:

Zitha Macheke (defender) - on loan from Kaizer Chiefs

Mark Mayambela (midfielder) - formerly of NFD team Royal Eagles

Nkosinathi Mthiyane (midfielder) - formerly of Amazulu

Christopher Matambo (midfielder) - on loan from Kaizer Chiefs

Rhulani Manzini (striker) - formerly of Platinum Stars

Diamond Thopola (defender) - formerly of Thanda Royal Zulu

Philani Shange (midfielder) - formerly of Amazulu

Simphiwe Ndzimbovu (defender), formerly of Maritzburg City

Hlabane Kutumela (midfielder) - formerly of NFD team Baroka

Kuduku Maleasenya (midfielder) - formerly of NFD team Baroka
