Cape Town - Chippa United have placed a R12m price tag for the services of their club captain Andile Mbenyane.
According to KickOff.com, the Chilli Boys boss Chippa Mpengesi has revealed that there has been interest shown in the services of Mbenyane but confirmed that Chippa United's star player will not be allowed to leave without a hefty transfer fee.
"There has been contact. But the boy won't go cheap," Mpengesi revealed.
"He is our best player, the captain and (one of the) founders of the team.
“He was here when we started the team and to me he is like a son. He is not gonna go for less than R12 million."
The 26-year-old midfielder could be the second player on his way out of the Eastern Cape after striker David Zulu reportedly agreed a deal to join Kaizer Chiefs when the transfer window reopens in January.
When the PSL resumes after the international break, Mbenyane and his Chippa United teammates will travel to Free State to take on Bloemfontein Celtic in league action.
The match at the Free State Stadium is scheduled for a 15:30 kick-off on Sunday, November 23.
