Chippa look to bounce back

Cape Town - Chippa United will be determined to end their lean run in the Absa Premiership when they host Polokwane City at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Chippa saw their winless run extended to eight league matches when they suffered a 2-0 defeat away to Ajax Cape Town on Friday.

The Eastern Cape side has claimed 16 points from 10 home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Orlando Pirates (away), AmaZulu (home) and Mamelodi Sundowns (away).

The Chilli Boys are placed 11th on the Absa Premiership with 23 points from 20 matches.

Polokwane suffered their first league defeat of 2015 when they went down 3-1 away to Orlando Pirates on Saturday.

The Limpopo side has claimed 14 points from 10 away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Mamelodi Sundowns (away), Bloemfontein Celtic and Bidvest Wits (both home).

Rise and Shine are placed sixth on the log with 28 points from 20 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Chippa and Polokwane have met in just one previous league match.

That encounter took place earlier this season, with Rise and Shine claiming a 3-1 home win in Limpopo.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, March 4.
