Chippa eyeing Khune swoop

Cape Town - Chippa United are reportedly hoping to lure South Africa goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune, to the club following his departure from Kaizer Chiefs.

The shot stopper is currently a free agent after bringing an end to his 11-year association with AmaKhosi last month and has subsequently been linked with a switch to big-spending Mamelodi Sundowns.

However, a move to an overseas club is thought to be Khune's preference, but that has not stopped Chilli Boys owner, Chippa Mpengesi, from attempting to lure the veteran to Port Elizabeth.

Chippa are currently in the market for a keeper after allowing first-choice Mbongeni Mzimela to depart in the off-season after negotiations over a new deal broke down between the parties.
