Mayambela: Nothing to prove

Cape Town - Chippa United midfielder Mark Mayambela says that there is nothing to prove when he lines up against his former employers, Orlando Pirates.

Mayambela says that the team is looking to make an impact more than they did when they faced Kaizer Chiefs and are hoping to dominate the field in every area possible.

“I don’t think there is anything to prove to anyone,” he told Sport24.

“We just to make sure we make an impact when we face Pirates tomorrow night. We are looking to dominate the field and close every gap like they said they would to us.

“Every team is a challenge in the PSL and they are no different. I am treating this match like any other; there is no difference even though I played for them.

“This will just mean I will be motivated to work harder and help my current team achieve better results.

“I am grateful for my team-mates support and we will go out there like we always have. This will be our season too,” Mayambela concluded.

The Chilli Boys will take on Buccaneers on Tuesday, August 18 at Orlando stadium.

Kick-off is set for 19:30.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
