Chiefs wait on Shabba, Musona

Johannesburg - Influential Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala and striker Knowledge Musona remain doubtful for the Soweto derby as the two are still nursing injuries.

According to the supersport.com website, team physio Dave Milner said the Tshabalala and Musona were undergoing medical examination to determine the extent of their injuries.

‘Shabba’ was substituted in the 59th minute while the ‘Smiling Assassin’ was substituted in the 90th minute when Chiefs beat Free State Stars on penalties in the Telkom Knockout quarter-finals.

Musona fell over his shoulder as he scored the equaliser in that Telkom KO match. Shabba picked up another injury in his return from a two weeks absence due to an Adductor muscle injury.

“We are examining the extent of the injuries to Musona and Tshabalala. We will be guided by the MRI scan results to determine if Musona will undergo a late fitness test before the Derby on Saturday,” said Milner.

Kaizer Motaung Jr missed the Free Sate Stars match due to a knee injury and is still undergoing treatment. Zimbabwean defender Jimmy Jambo is on a long recovery route but has started light training with the rest of the Team.
