Chiefs to hold media conference

Cape Town – Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that the club will hold a press conference next week in order to make a "players announcement".

Read: Cardoso to solidify Chiefs spot

Earlier week Amakhosi revealed, after much speculation, that Steve Komphela will take charge of the Glamour Boys bid to defend their 2014/15 PSL title.

Komphela signed on at the Naturena on an initial three-year deal. The confirmation came shortly after the resignation of Stuart Baxter, who recently took up a post in Turkey with Super Liga club, Genclerbirligi.

Sport24 reported that Komphela resigned from Maritzburg United with immediate effect on Monday, June, 15 and was seen sporting a bright yellow tie just two days later as he ffaced the press for the first time as a Kaizer Chiefs head coach.

Following the Soweto giants confirmation that they will host another press conference on Tuesday, speculation has now turned to which players will join the squad, or remain for that matter, for the upcoming season.

One player almost certain to be standing before the public in his new Kaizer Chiefs kit is Free State Stars Daniel Cardoso.

Cardoso spoke to Sport24 assuring the Amakhosi faithful that his move to Naturena is a done deal.

The 26-year-old defender will make the move from the Free State, where he has earned a reputation as a reliable utility player that can play anywhere across the back four.

However, the wavering thought in the Chiefs fans minds is whether the club's chairman Kaizer Motaung will be able to hold onto outgoing star trio - Itumeleng Khune, Tefu Mashamaite and Mandla Masango.

The trio’s contract deals are set to expire at the end of June but recent speculation has hinted that all three players could perform a u-turn and ink new deals at the Naturena.

Kaizer Chiefs Players Announcement Press Conference:

Date: Tuesday, June 23, 2015

Venue: Kaizer Chiefs Village, Naturena

Time: 08:30 for 09:00
