Johannesburg - Vasco da Gama’s new loan signing, Nicholas Mynhardt, was mugged in Parow, Cape Town, yesterday, with the Kaizer Chiefs striker having his phone and money taken.
The Soccer-Laduma website reports, the 22-year-old only made the move to Cape Town last week after securing a loan move from the Amakhosi to Vasco, though his start to life in the Mother City has been far from ideal.
While the forward did have his phone and money taken at knifepoint, it has been confirmed that the player himself is fine, just a little shaken up.
His mother, Lourdes Mynhardt, confirmed that he was ok, even though he was understandably shaken by the incident.
Mynhardt will now be hoping to put the incident behind him as he looks to make an impact at his new club.
