Chiefs set sights on eighth win

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs will look to continue fine form in the PSL when they take on Ajax Cape Town in Cape Town.

Ajax suffered their first defeat of the season when they were beaten 1-0 away to Black Aces in their last outing.

The Cape Town side is unbeaten at home this season, with a maximum nine points from three matches.

Roger de Sa’s Urban Warriors are placed second on the Absa Premiership log with 14 points from seven matches.

Chiefs maintained their perfect league record with a 1-0 home win over Maritzburg United last time out.

The Soweto giants have beaten Free State Stars, Black Aces and Platinum Stars on the road this season.

Amakhosi are placed first on the Absa Premiership log with 21 points from seven matches.

In head-to-head stats, Ajax and Chiefs have met in 30 league matches since 1999/2000.

The Amakhosi have 12 wins compared to nine for the Urban Warriors, while nine matches have been drawn.

Ajax have won seven of their 15 home matches against Chiefs, suffering three defeats in the process.

Last season the Cape Town side won their home match 1-0, while the Soweto giants claimed revenge in the return game with a 2-0 victory.

Kick-off is scheduled for 15:30 at Cape Town Stadium on Sunday, October 19.
