Amakhosi feeling positive

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse reveals that Kaizer Chiefs are positive heading into the Ajax Cape Town clash.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper was in goals the last time the two sides met in the PSL, on that occasion Chiefs defeated the Urban Warriors 2-0.

Speaking to Sport24, in an exclusive interview, the young goalkeeper praised the side's attitude and also hailed the impact of the technical team ahead of the tough clash against Ajax in Cape Town.

"It's always positive in training and not just because things are going well" said the shot-stopper.

Pieterse praised the efforts of the behind the scenes team in keeping the players in the right frame of mind.

"We've got one of the best technical teams and they always keep us motivated.

"They know what to do, what to say and when to say it and that is a massive boost to the players".

Pieterse believes that competition for places is one of the reasons behind the team's brilliant start to the 2014/15 season as well as a positive vibe at training and the player look to take that into Sunday's PSL fixture.

"All the players are training hard to continue developing as players which is benefiting the team.

"There are big expectations on the players as well.

" If you are a Kaizer Chiefs player then you are expected to perform at a certain level."

The Amakhosi are aware of the threat posed by Ajax Cape Town with Pieterse adding that Roger de Sa's youngsters "will not push overs, especially at home."

"Sunday's game will be a tough one.

Ajax are always present a difficult challenge especially at home.

"We are expecting it to be a physical one but we will do the best we can do to get maximum points from it.

"We want to play some good football and entertain our fans".

Pieterse said his teammates do not like to lose and are hungry to win and to be successful.
Kaizer Chiefs will look to extend their unbeaten record at the Cape Town Stadium on Sunday, October 19.
