Chiefs off to Europe?

Johannesburg - PSL champions, Kaizer Chiefs, could well be making their way to Europe in the near future as they plan for a possible preseason camp in Italy.

According to the Soccer-Laduma website, it's thought that Chiefs, who won the PSL and Nedbank Cup titles last year, are eager to take on two Italian Serie A teams ahead of their 2013/14 campaign, in order to fully prepare themselves for their title defence.

Amakhosi’s head coach, Stuart Baxter, spent several years working in Europe, building up an extensive contact base, something that it is believed he is using in order to try and organise the potential trip.

There has been no confirmation as to whether the trip will go ahead.

Baxter is due back in South Africa on the 29th of June after holidaying in Sweden following the end of his debut season in the Absa Premiership.

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will clash on July 27, with the title of 2013 Carling Black Label Cup champions up for grabs.
