Chiefs mum on Musona deal

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs media and corporate communications manager, Vina Maphosa, says the club will not discuss player movement before the current season has officially ended.

This follows recent speculation linking striker, Knowledge Musona, with a possible move to newly crowned ABSA Premiership champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Zimbabwean international is currently on loan from German Bundesliga side, 1899 Hoffenheim.

The deal is set to elapse at the end of June and it is not yet clear if the "Silent Assassin" will return to Europe or remain with the Phefeni Glamour Boys.

"At the moment we cannot talk about the player movement because the season is still on," Maphosa told Sport24 in an exclusive interview.

"The season has not officially ended as we speak. The season will end officially this coming Saturday after the Nedbank Cup.

"We can only talk about that next week but I will have to first talk to the football manager of the team (Bobby Motaung) and hear what he says regarding this," Maphosa added.

The 23-year-old forward managed to find the back of the net on eight occasions in the league despite missing out in the closing stages of the season due to injuries.

It remains to be seen where Musona will play his football next season.
