According to goal.com, the 23-year-old is said to be frustrated with his situation at the Russian club.

Reports suggest that the Russian Premier League side is struggling to pay its players which is one of the reasons Xulu is looking to leave the club.

“Look Siyanda's situation at Rostov is complex,” said an unnamed source.

“But yes, Chiefs are interested in him. For now they can only wait, until Siyanda's situation is resolved.

“Siyanda has another season left on his Rostov deal. However, I cannot rule out a possible a transfer back home for him.”

Chiefs are looking for a long-term replacement for Tefu Mashamaite. The 30-year-old decided to turn down Chiefs' offer to remain at Naturena.

Xulu is a former youth product of Amakhosi, who is also admired by Pitso Mosimane.

Mamelodi Sundowns seek their very own replacement for outgoing captain, Alje Schut.
