Chiefs end Mother City camp

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs' recent training camp in Cape Town ended without much fanfare as the Premiership leaders prepare to return to Soweto.

Amakhosi spent the last week in the Mother City undergoing various practice sessions and friendly matches, including a 1-0 defeat to National First Division side Milano United.

Chiefs communication manager Vina Maphosa was nonplussed by the loss, though, with the focus in Cape Town on the team's fitness ahead of the Premiership's resumption next week.

"We are heading back to Johannesburg tomorrow (Monday) after spending a week in Cape Town," Maphosa is quoted as saying by KickOff.

"Yes, we played a few practice matches but there's nothing to report on because they were just practices games."

Chiefs will be looking to maintain their stunning top-flight form when they resume their hunt for the league crown against Bloemfontein Celtic on February 11, where Stuart Baxter's men will be looking to continue their 18-match unbeaten run, while also adding to their 15-point lead at the summit.
