Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly reconsidering appealing coach Stuart Baxter’s two-game ban in fear of a longer suspension.
Baxter was banished to the stands after receiving a red card in his side's victory over First Division outfit United FC on Saturday night. He allegedly made abusive comments towards an assistant referee.
Chiefs coasted into the Nedbank Cup final with a 2-1 win at FNB Stadium.
The PSL then said Baxter would not be allowed on the pitch for their next two games, and while he would be able to communicate with staff on the field, he would not be able to do so electronically.
However, according to the Soccer Laduma website, Chiefs have been informed that, should they appeal and fail, Baxter could be given an extra game ban, meaning he would also miss the Nedbank Cup final at the end of the month.
Chiefs currently top the PSL standings with two games remaining, leading second-placed Platinum Stars by three points.
