Cape Town – Pitso Mosimane admits that Kaizer Chiefs “can afford to lose two games and smile” as Maritzburg United handed the log leaders their second defeat.

A single goal from United’s Khumbulani Banda, nine minutes from time allowed Mosimane’s Sundowns reduce their log point deficient by eight points which could further turn into a five point gap as the Chloorkop side have a match to spare.

"They can afford to lose two games and smile," said Mosimane after his Brazilian side thrashed Polokwane City 5-0 at Loftus Stadium.

According to KickOff, Mosimane admits that the PSL title might just have to go down to goal difference as Wits and Chiefs edge closer in points.

"I mean they are seven points [eight] ahead of us. They can afford to lose two games and smile and take a draw. But I don't know about the last draw, if they can take a draw and lose two games because we are trying to get as many goals as we can. I can foresee this could go down to goals, and Wits are applying the pressure on us with the goals, we need the goals.

“Look, it's not about... we have to do what we have to do. We are playing at home to Polokwane City, we just have to get the goals. It doesn't what matter what other teams are doing.”
