Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has added to his goalkeeping options following the promotion of Luthando Sixhaso from the development squad.
AmaKhosi snapped up the youngster following his impressive performance in last year's Nedbank Ke Yona team, and with Brilliant Khuzwayo nursing a broken bone in his hand, Sixhaso has been handed his ticket to the first team.
However, the 21-year-old faces a tough battle in being considered for match duty, with South Africa captain Itumeleng Khune and Reyaad Pieterse ahead of him in the pecking order at Naturena.
Sixhaso has enjoyed a meteoric rise through the football ranks, having gone from playing for Khayelitsha-based Cape Town side Barcelona only a few years ago, before his move from Ke Yona to Chiefs' youth ranks and ultimate promotion.
Meanwhile, Chiefs are set to face fellow Absa Premiership title contenders SuperSport United on Saturday, September at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Kick-off is at 18:00.
