Pretoria - Kaizer Chiefs looked sharp as they eased past Moroka Swallows 3-0 to book a place in the Gauteng Cup final later on Saturday.
They will face Wits in the pre-season tournament decider in the evening.
In their first match under new coach Stuart Baxter, Chiefs held a 1-0 halftime lead, through a Lehlohonolo Majoro strike shortly before the break.
Bernard Parker doubled the margin after 68 minutes, before George Lebese sealed proceedings in the 87th minute.
Majoro was crucial in all three goals as Amakhosi looked deadly on the counterattack.
Making their first appearances for Chiefs were six of their high profile signings in Eric Mathoho, Morgan Gould, Siboniso Gaxa, Siyabonga Nkosi, Kgotso Moleko and Kingston Nkhatha.
Nkhatha, however, limped off injured and was replaced by Majoro in the first half.
Swallows, also under a new coach in Zeca Marques, played with a familiar squad apart from Felix Obada -- their only signing for the season.
While the Birds were sluggish in the afternoon heat, they had a better showing in the second-half as they surged forward more but it was Chiefs that earned the well-deserved victory.
Earlier, Wits progressed through to the final with a 1-0 win over SuperSport United, of a late Ofentse Nato header.
Nato found himself unmarked inside the box to complete a Faty Papi corner kick in the 79th minute for the crucial score.
The Clever Boys had been outplayed by the hosts especially in the first stanza but United were guilty of poor finishing, while Wits' formidable defence held firm.
