Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has acknowledged his side's best run of form in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) since 1999.
The defending league champions beat Golden Arrows 1-0 at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Thursday night to go top of the PSL standings.
It was also their fifth league win in a row - a feat they last achieved back in 1999.
Speaking after the game, Baxter said they were proud of the record.
“All the players are happy because it is the first time Chiefs have won five on the trot (in the league) this century,” he said on the Soccer-Laduma website.
“We didn’t win here last year and we won the Championship, so maybe it is a good omen.”
Chiefs next tackle AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday.
