Cape Town - Moroka Swallows striker Lerato Chabangu believes the club made the right choice appointing Craig Rosslee as the new head coach.

Chanbangu says the experience Rosslee brings to the club will be an invaluable asset as they look to avoid relegation to the National First Division.

Rosslee was brought in to replace Fani Madida, who was sacked by Swallows just before the international break.

The new head coach has his work cut out for him as the club is second last on the Premiership table and have played a game more than their nearest rivals.

Rosslee has just six games left in the season to get the club as far up the table as possible.

"We are happy to have Craig as our new coach. We believe his experience is going to help us to beat the relegation zone and stay in the Premiership," Chabangu told goal.com.

"He has worked with top teams in the past and that is the perfect omen that will help us survive this season."

The Dube Birds have only won six games all season and will be nervously looking over their shoulder to AmaZulu five points below them on the bottom of the table.

The Durban club has turned its fortunes around recently and has eight points from their last four games.

"We haven't been playing badly especially when Fani was still with us," Chabangu said.

"We just didn't have the luck to win games and that is what cost us, that's what's been costing us the entire season.

"We have the players to get out of the relegation zone and with an experienced coach like Craig, who has won many titles and coached a few top teams and players, I truly believe we will retain our status in the elite league despite many people writing us off already.

"We will turn the corner."
