Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic head coach Clinton Larsen said that the team can’t wait to compete after a long break and are looking forward to giving a great performance in the MTN8 quarter-finals.

Larsen who has played for Orlando Pirates and previously coached Maritzburg United said that he is happy with the way the players are getting on and although he can’t divulge on his starting line-up at this moment.

"We are just looking forward to competing after such a long time. It’s the last play was on the 9th of May. It’s been a long break. It’s really been a while," Larsen told Sport24.

"We really can’t wait to get back into the swing of things. We want to give a great performance you know and get through to the semi-finals.

"I can’t divulge any players at the moment. We have made a few new signings, and everybody is starting to gel well.

"They have been playing very, very well and we are looking forward to seeing them on the field at some stage. Like I said I divulge any names at the moment.

"Otherwise I am very happy we are in the gelling process.

"The new and old players are starting to understand each other a lot better and we really looking forward to a successful season."

Phunya Sele Sele will take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 quarter-finals on Wednesday, August 5 at the Loftus Stadium.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
