Cellphone scam hits Chiefs star

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Maluleka has become the latest victim of a cellphone scam targeting professional footballers, reports Soccer-Laduma website.

Maluleka took to his Facebook page to warn his fans to be wary of the person currently using his number, posting, “Hi guys. Jus thought I would remind you that my number has been hacked. I dont use it anymore and plz dont respond to anyone who sends you whatsapp msgs cz I am not on whatsapp anymore. I hav a new number and currently not on whatsapp. Pass the message on plz cz they are tryng to ruin my name. Thnx guys. Tak cre and God Bless. #12.”

Despite this setback, the Tembisa-born star will be focused on Wednesday evening’s game against Mpumalanga Black Aces, where the Amakhosi are hoping to inflict another defeat on AmaZayoni, whom they bundled out of the MTN8 competition with a 4-0 hammering.
