Cape Town - Steven Pienaar is in the country and has said that he would love to return to the PSL someday – Platinum Stars coach Cavin Johnson could be the man to make that happen.
The Dikwena
coach is known to have Pienaar’s ear and has been a mentor to the Everton
midfielder throughout his career.
Johnson laughed off the idea of reuniting with ‘Schillo’ at Platinum Stars, saying only big PSL teams could hope to match his wage demands.
“You know with Steven, the big teams will probably go for him and offer him big money,” Johnson told Sport24.
Johnson, however, said that as much as he would love to see Pienaar back in the PSL he thinks the midfielder should stay on in England for a while.
“He had a hard season last year, a very, very difficult season.
“He was recovering from a knee operation and then when he was just ready to get back he got injured and was out again for a couple of months.
“As a mentor I would like to know that he’s fully fit and able to compete one more season at Everton and get back that spark and leave with a legacy.
