Cardoso spoke to Sport24 assuring the Amakhosi faithful that his move to Naturena is a done deal.
The 26-year-old will make the move from Free State stars where he has earned a reputation as a reliable utility player that can play anywhere in the back four.
Cardoso has, however, insisted that he won’t be joining the Glamour Boys merely to provide cover and insists that he is looking to make the centre-back spot his own.
“I am definitely looking at nailing down that centre back spot,” said Cardoso.
“My main aim for the season is to obviously secure a place in the side – either in the 11 or 18, one of the two. It just depends how hard I work.”
The vacancy left by Tefu Mashamaite will require more than just hard work to fill but Cardoso is confident that he is the right man for the job.
He also mentioned that he will feel at home at the FNB Stadium having grown up in the South of Johannesburg.
“I’m from Jo’burg originally so it’s actually a bonus that I am back and back with my family for good.”
