Cape Town – Former Orlando Pirates midfielder John ‘Dungi’ Moeti applauds club chairperson Dr Irvin Khoza for keeping Eric Tinkler on as coach.

Sport24 reported that Tinkler is set to continue coaching the Buccaneers senior team with Khoza stating, “there is no reason to change anything as this might have a negative effect on the momentum Eric has managed to build.”

According to Soccer Laduma, Moeti says that the progress under Tinkler would not have been under the likes of Vladimir Vermezovic.

“I don’t believe players like Menzi Masuku and Thabo Rakhale would have made headway under Vladimir Vermezovic,” said Moeti.

“That shows the change he has made to the team. Dr Khoza further touch on consistency.

“It would not make sense to bring in someone new at this stage especially when they are doing so well in the Confederation Cup.”

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
