Bucs' fans eye fresh pairing

Johannesburg - With less than two weeks to go to their much anticipated Carlin Black Label Cup clash against Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates PRO Mickey Modisane has admitted that the Happy People supporters are eager to see an attacking combination comprising of Lehlohonolo Majoro and Kermit Erasmus.

The Carling Black Label Cup, in its fourth year, enables fans to vote for their favourite player and dictate who they would like to field in their team.

As things stand, Bucs fans have voted for both Erasmus and Majoro to be paired together in attack even though they are yet to start a game together in Pirates colours.

Modisane also confirmed that Majoro and his teammates are working hard at training ahead of the 2014/15 season set to commence in August.

"He (Majoro) is working very hard at training," said Modisane.

"Not only him, even the rest of the players.

"Now you can see that he has been paired with Kermit Erasmus by our supporters.

"That’s what the supporters want to see.

"They want to see the two of them combined together.

"This is an intelligent boost.

"That’s why the fans are buying their tickets in numbers.

"Because they want to see Majoro and Erasmus combination for the first time.

The two team competition began in 2011 and the Buccaneers hold the advantage over their Soweto rivals heading to their next encounter.

Pirates won the first two editions of the competition on two occasions, in 2011 and 2012, with the Phefeni Glamour Boys finally laying their hands on the trophy in 2013, with the help of a Majoro goal while he was still on their books.
