Bucs backed for CAF success

Cape Town - Former Bafana Bafana midfielder, Helman Mkhalele has backed Orlando Pirates to overcome Zamalek in their group B clash in the CAF Confederations Cup on Saturday.

The Buccaneers will be looking for their second win in the tournament at the Mbombela Stadium, having beaten AC Leopards 1-0 away from home last month.

Speaking with KickOff ahead of Pirates' showdown with the Egyptian giants, Mkhalele said: "Pirates have capabilities of winning because we've seen that they do quite well when they play against these so called big teams in Africa.

"I still believe that with the momentum Pirates have currently, I don't see them having more difficulties.

"Zamalek knows of Pirates' capabilities so they are shaking from what they have experienced during the Champions League a few years ago.

"They (Pirates) have been in difficult tough conditions, so now having come from that background they will give them upper hand in terms of how to deal with pressure."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
