Bucs: No Zamalek talks for Kermit

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates have responded to the growing speculation that Kermit Erasmus could be departing the club in the current transfer window.

Earlier this week, transfer rumours emerged linking Erasmus with a R20 million move to Egyptian giants, Zamalek SC.

The story has been reported on extensively throughout South Africa and Erasmus' current club have moved to rubbish these reports.

The club released the following statement on their website on Wednesday:

"Orlando Pirates Football Club would like to clarify the recent reports surrounding the future of Kermit Erasmus.

Over the last couple of days it has been reported on various media outlets that the Club has accepted an offer from Egyptian Premier League side Zamalek SC for the services of Mr Erasmus. Orlando Pirates Football Club would like to put it on record that there has been no official communication between the Club and Zamalek about the services of Mr Erasmus.

Mr Erasmus is currently in camp undergoing pre-season training with the rest of the squad in Nelspruit."

The Soweto giants statement aligns with what the player's agent said on the matter. (Read that story HERE!)
