The Glamour Boys are without a trophy this season, and their exit in the last-eight of the Cup to Free State Stars will have been a major blow, but general manager Bobby Motaung says they are focused on the league now.
Motaung said in the Sowetan: "We decided to stay over in Polokwane after Saturday's game to regroup properly.
"The problem is that last week was hectic for us as we were dealing with the departure of coach (Vladimir Vermezovic) and also preparing for the cup game.
"(Head coach) Ace Khuse, (and assistants) Doctor Khumalo and Arthur Zwane had only two days to prepare for the game. The loss was painful but we are back on our feet.
"I believe we will win (on Tuesday) because we all know what a defeat will do to our title hopes. We are still confident of winning the league title."
Maritzburg coach Ernst Middendorp will be hoping Chiefs are in fact not 'back on their feet,' as he will be looking to secure three points in their quest to finish in the top eight.
With his defenders giving him all manner of headaches in their Nedbank Cup exit to Sundowns, the German said: "We need to stop this nonsense of donating goals, it is unacceptable if you consider what happened in the game against Sundowns.
"We need to remain tight at the back. Chiefs are a tough side but we need to start getting results."
Chiefs are fourth on the table with five games to go, and sit six points below leaders Sundowns, so a win against the Team of Choice is vital if they are to take home any silverware this season.
