Mbombela - Mpumalanga Black Aces are still waiting on former Kaizer Chiefs winger Abia Nale to avail himself before making any attempt to recruit him on a permanent deal.
The former Lamontville Golden Arrows man is currently out of contract with the Amakhosi and it was reported that the Soweto giants were not keen on renewing his contract.
Nale spent the last season on loan to Amazayoni.
Aces spokesperson Gordon Masondo told Sport24 in an exclusive interview on Friday, that the club is still interested in the Sebokeng-born player's services for the upcoming Absa Premiership campaign, but it’s up to him to decide if he still wants to stay with the Mbombela-based outfit.
“We are still waiting on him,” Masondo said.
“But he is currently not training with the rest of our squad.
“But if he avail himself, the club will be pleased to have him on board.
“But if he doesn’t avail himself, we will move on.”
Coach Clive Barker and his technical team will be looking to boost their squad ahead of the new season as they will also participate in the MTN8 competition.
Sport24 reported last week that Aces are assessing two veterans of the game - Sibusiso Zuma and Rowen Fernandez - having already completed the signing of the Zambian international striker, Collins Mbesuma, earlier this week.
“Ntofontofo” has penned a two-year deal with Aces, after spending the last two years at Orlando Pirates.
Masondo also confirmed that Barker and the team management will make a decision later on Friday regarding the remaining duo, formerly with SuperSport United.
Meanwhile, Masondo said there are still several players who were on trial in the current off-season period who might be signed too.
“The club returned today from their off-season camp,” confirmed Masondo.
“The coach is currently in a meeting with the team management.
“They will decide on whether Zuma and Fernandez will be part of our squad later today.
“But it’s not only them who are still waiting to hear the results; there are plenty of other players who were part of our pre-season training as well."
