Birds vow to soar once more

Dobsonville - Following their disappointing 2013/14 campaign, Moroka Swallows coach Zeca Marques has vowed that his charges will make amends in the forthcoming PSL season.

The Dube Birds finished the previous campaign flirting with relegation after finishing in 13th place in the PSL standings.

The "Lollipop" told Sport24 in an exclusive interview that his troops have learned a lot from their errors and they are promising to turn things around next season.

"We want to rectify all our mistakes from last season," Marques told Sport24.

"Things didn’t go the way we would have liked as a team.

"We have started already with our preparations for next season.

"And everything regarding our preparations is going very well.

Swallows have been active during the off-season transfer window, but the 52-year-old tactician remained mum on the identities of the possible recruits.

"Unfortunately at this moment I can’t talk about our new signings."

"We will wait for the official announcement day when everything is ready," concluded Marques.

Swallows will kick-off their season with an away tough assignment of the traditional Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates at the Orlando stadium on the weekend of 8-10 August.
