Birds flying with Hyundai

Johannesburg - Following the official unveiling Moroka Swallows manager Zeca Marquez has expressed his delight at having Hyundai becoming the club's title sponsor two months into the PSL season following the departure of their previous sponsor Volkswagen in June.

Sport24 first reported on Saturday that Swallows were to team up with the brand, which was displayed on the team's jerseys in their PSL defeat to Chippa United on Sunday.
Swallows CEO Leon Prins then revealed their new two year partnership with Hyundai on Monday, with the official unveiling held on Thursday.

Dube Birds coach Zeca Marquez is delighted with the development, but laments the timing of the deal.

"We are so grateful for a new sponsor," said Marquez.

"The season is already underway and there is no much we can plan to be honest.

"But at least it will give us a chance to plan better for next year and put things into place.

"It will also help us to identify new players we would need next year.

"At this time of the year we can’t change much in the team."

The Dube Birds are currently occupying the seventh spot on the log.

Their next game will be against Free State Stars at Goble Park next weekend.
