Billiat to honour Madiba!

Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns attacking midfielder, Khama Billiat, is ready to contribute his goodwill for the 67 minutes campaign for Mandela Day in remembrance of global icon, Nelson Mandela.

The diminutive dribbling wizard believes that Mandela Day is one of the most significant days of the year not just in South Africa, but globally, reports Soccer-Laduma's website.

“Mr Nelson Mandela was not just a South African or even African leader but he was a global inspiration, and it’s important for all of us to honour his legacy by giving back in whatever way we can, " he said.

“I’m honoured to be part of a club that will embark on giving back to the community. Mamelodi Sundowns through their Corporate Social Investment programmes will be involved in various projects in the surrounding communities and we as the players are going to be involved.”

“It makes me happy that we can come together as players and as a club and in our small way make a difference in the lives of people. This is the essence of Mandela Day. We should strive to use our time for good and social change,” said the 23-year-old star.
