Billiat hails pre-season form

Cape Town - Khama Billiat feels Mamelodi Sundowns' pre-season campaign can give them the edge as they go in search of the Premiership crown in 2015/16.

The Brazilians, runners-up to Kaizer Chiefs in the league last term, have been in sublime form during the off-season, so far playing 10 friendly matches and losing just once.

Pitso Mosimane's men, who lifted the Nedbank Cup last season, rounded off their preparations on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Namibia outfit African Stars, and Zimbabwe international Billiat feels there are plenty of reasons for Sundowns to start getting excited.

"We have played close to 10 serious games in the pre-season and we have only lost one. That shows that we have done very well," he told Soccer Laduma.

"We will continue playing like we have been playing in the pre-season and that will help us as the season goes on. We have done very well in the pre-season."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
