Billiat earns SA citizenship

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns have freed up an extra spot in their foreign quota after Khama Billiat was registered as a local player.

The Zimbabwe international first arrived in the PSL in 2010 after joining Ajax Cape Town, before moving on to the Brazilians in 2013, where he has been a key figure ever since.

And, five years on the Harare-born playmaker has earned his South African citizenship, allowing another foreign player to be brought in to Chloorkop before the close of the transfer period on August 31.

That means Sundowns have two of five foreign slots open, with Cuthbert Malajila, as well as new signings Mogakolodi Ngele and Fiston Abdul Razak, the imports playing for the Tshwane giants.

Still unregistered for the campaign are Nigeria international Ejike Uzoenyi and Billiat's international team-mate Kudakwashe Mahachi, who are all expected to depart Sundowns this month.
