Cape Town - Orlando Pirates midfielder Thandani Ntshumayelo insists the side will be looking to end their season on a high by aiming for glory in the CAF Confederations Cup.

The Buccaneers ended the PSL campaign empty handed after failing in their Nedbank Cup title defence while also finishing fourth in the Premiership following Saturday's 2-2 draw at Ajax Cape Town.

The Sea Robbers had to battle back from two goals down to rescue a point at the Cape Town Stadium, although Ntshumayelo believes their performance against the Urban Warriors stands them in good stead ahead of Friday's Confed Cup play-off clash against AS Kaloum Star.

"We fought hard to come back (against Ajax) which showed the character of the players," Bibo, as he is affectionately known, told Soccer Laduma.

"Unfortunately we missed out on a top three spot but our performance and the way we came back to fight hard to equalise; this will be the sort of performance we will need against AS Kaloum Star on Friday.

"We want to do well in the Confed Cup and carry on with our momentum in CAF tournaments. It’s important to all of us that we do well in this competition."

Kick-off is at 17:00 (SA time).
