Benni suspended again

Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates will be without Benni McCarthy and Thandani Ntshumayelo for Monday's visit of Jomo Cosmos.

The influential pair are suspended after each picking up their third booking in the recent 1-0 victory over AmaZulu.

However, first-choice goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs returns from a one-match ban, while midfielders Andile Jali (ankle) and Isaac Chansa (shin) face late fitness tests.

Defender Rooi Mahamutsa misses out again with a hamstring injury.

Pirates, the defending league champions, trail PSL leaders Mamelodi Sundowns on goal difference, with the Brazilians next in action against Black Leopards on Wednesday.

Cosmos, meanwhile, are a massive 27 points poorer at the bottom of the standings. They are seven points short of escaping the drop zone although they have a game in hand.

Jomo Sono's men conceded two late goals in a 2-1 loss to Ajax Cape Town in their previous outing.

Sono has fitness concerns in the shape of left-back Lehlohonolo Nonyane (toe) and Mark Haskins (knee).

Second-choice keeper Abisai Shiningayamwe has been ruled out with a groin complaint.
