Johannesburg - The Orlando Pirates duo of Benni McCarthy and Moeneeb Josephs have been named in the starting XI for Bucs’ reserve game against Mamelodi Sundowns on Tuesday, in the Gauteng Reserve League.
According to the Soccer-Laduma website, the Buccaneers are at the top of the reserve league at present, and will be hoping that they can consolidate their place when they take on the Brazilians.
McCarthy and Josephs have been the subject of much speculation of late as both of their futures are in doubt, although it seems that they may be on their way to a return to first team football.
Roger de Sa, the club’s head coach, told their official website that he sees this game as a very important one.
He said, “This is an extremely important match for us. We have to play well and I will also try to give a chance to the guys that are coming back from injury so that we have a solid squad on Saturday.
“Right now the guys are all motivated and they all want to be part of the team that will travel to Nelspruit later in the week, so, they will have graft today and we will see how it goes,” he concluded.
