McCarthy surprised all and sundry in December when he used the R100 000 prize money from his Telkom Knockout Striker of the Tournament award to throw a party for his team-mates, but for fear of being labelled a party animal he won't be doing it again.
The former Bafana Bafana marksman took home the Telkom Knockout Player of the Tournament accolade, as well as the PSL Goal of the Season award on Sunday with a total prize money of R250 000 and speaking to Football411.com, McCarthy says he would rather donate the money to charity this time around.
"No, I won't be throwing my team-mates a party this time, because I don't wanna be labelled a party animal," he declared.
"What I did for them back in December was just a small gesture that they helped me score four goals during the tournament, but I won't do it because I don't want to spoil them too much.
"I also don't want people to start assuming that Pirates players have lots of money to throw big parties, so I might donate the money to charity.
"I still have to think about it and I do feel that there are lots of worth causes out there that need our support, so they can use the money but as I said it is something that I still have to think about," McCarthy continued.
The 34-year-old was delighted to take home the two awards, but says he is already looking forward to challenging Siyabonga Nomvete in the next campaign.
"He took home three big awards so I'm inspired to challenge him and give him a run for his money next season. I'm very happy for Bhele and I'm looking forward to a great fight next season."
