Baxter set for century milestone

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter currently sits one shy of the century mark, accumulating 99 games at the helm of AmaKhosi since 2012.

Baxter will reach triple figures on Wednesday night when they visit AmaZulu having won 62 out of the 99 games in all competitions that he has been in charge, drawing 21 and losing 16.

The former Bafana Bafana coach won the 2012/13 ABSA Premiership, 2013 Nedbank Cup and 2014 MTN8 Cup since he arrived at Naturena during the winter of 2012, and his reign as Chief's boss also saw him named the 2012/2013 PSL Coach of the Year.

Heading into Wednesday’s League match in Kwa Zulu-Natal, Baxter will be encouraged by the fact that he has won all his four previous games against Usuthu, giving him hope that he will complete his 100 games in charge with a smile at the end of 90 minutes, reports KickOff.com website.

Baxter’s Chiefs have gone 14 consecutive games unbeaten in the League since suffering a 1-0 home defeat to Mpumalanga Black Aces in April which derailed their title defence last season.
