Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter was not completely happy with his side, despite their 3-0 win over Golden Arrows on Tuesday night.
The Glamour Boys are now on 21 points from nine games and are still unbeaten in the league, but Baxter was not pleased with their wastefulness and the first 20 minutes of the second period.
"I thought we started a little sloppily, but we came into the game. When we played properly, I thought we played very well. We created far too many chances to go in (with Arrows) just 1-0 down. So I wasn't happy with that," he said.
"We came out for the second half and we had a period of 20 minutes where I've never seen us play as badly. Our defensive shape was too wide, there were holes between the lines and Golden Arrows got a chance to play some football - and they can play some football.
"But, with them pumping forward as optimistic as they were, I thought it was a good opportunity to split strikers and go in from both angles. That gave us a second goal and that was game over."
When asked about the team turning off in the second-half in recent matches, he said, "That's a question I constantly try to wrestle with. I think we work very hard to create our chances. And I think if we leave the game at 1-0, the team becomes a little bit anxious.
"I was most concerned with the 20 minutes that we didn't take responsibility on the ball. We ended up kicking the ball away and that's not the way we play football."
