Baxter: Let's keep it going

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter is hoping his side can maintain the momentum from their Soweto derby win when they take on Ajax Cape Town in the PSL on Wednesday evening.

According to the Soccer-Laduma website, the Glamour Boys emerged from Saturday's Soccer City encounter with a 1-0 win over bitter rivals Orlando Pirates and are currently three points clear at the top of the standings, and with a game in hand over second.

Amakhosi next come up against an Urban Warriors outfit looking to secure a top-eight finish this term, and Baxter has urged his side to keep the pressure going as they head into the final nine games of the Premiership campaign.

"It is a matter of keeping the momentum. We cannot remove our foot from the pedal," the Englishman told the club's official website.

"To us the most important game is the next game. We won the 'war' on the weekend but the battle rages on."

Looking at Chiefs' upcoming opponents, Baxter added: They are tactically a good team. They have clever players that are tactically smart.

"We have to watch them carefully while we make sure that we maintain our plan to have a full go at them. They come at you very fast but we will be able to deal with their forays."
