Baxter: I will try to be fair

Cape Town - Stuart Baxter is not really bothered with having to make a decision on which goalkeeper to be in his Kaizer Chiefs starting XI.

According to KickOff, Baxter admits that it will be a tough decision but he is not too concern about implementing the change with Itumeleng Khune having returned from injury.

“However, you still have to manage that in terms of what is fair and correct about when he [Khune] should come back,” said Baxter.

“How fit must he be before he is given the opportunity to establish himself again? When you have got keepers that have done well before when is it correct to pull them out? So I have got all those things to manage and the only thing that I can say is, that I will try to be as fair as I can to the squad and as fair as I can to the individual [Khuzwayo].

“Whether it is a popular decision or not that is what I am not really too bothered about because I think for me it is about winning games and doing the right thing rather than winning a popularity contest,” explains Baxter.

Chiefs take on Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday, February 11 and it will be interesting to see who Baxter opts between Reyaad Pieterse, Brilliant Khuzwayo or Khune.

Kick-off is at 19:30.

Sport24 will have LIVE scoring and interactive commentary from the Absa Premiership clash between Bloemfontein Celtic and Kaizer Chiefs.
