Barker ready for NFD challenge

Cape Town - AmaZulu coach Steve Barker says his players are looking fit both physically and mentally ahead of the opening NFD match against Witbank Spurs.

Barker told the club’s official website, that they have some new exciting players who will be a great combination to the experienced ones which will boost the team’s performance as the season progresses.

“The players are fit, both mentally and physically. There has been lot of hard work that we have put in during the pre-season period,” Barker said.

“We have some new exciting players that will combine well with our experienced ones.”

Speaking about their opponents, he said they will have to be mentally prepared as Spurs have been playing in that level for some time.

“Spurs have an advantage of being playing in that league for some time now, but that does not stop us from preparing well. I think it going to be a good match.

“A good start is important, especially since we are playing at home.”

AmaZulu will host Witbank Spurs at the King Zwelithini stadium on Saturday, August 22.
