Cape Town - Black Aces coach Clive Barker understands as well as anybody else that his club needs to collect maximum points against Chippa United on Wednesday.

Aces, who enjoyed a fantastic start to their league campaign, now find themselves in a slightly less appealing position after the first twelve rounds. That is thanks, in part, to the consecutive defeats recorded against Polokwane City and Bidvest Wits in their two most recent fixtures.
As a result, Barker’s charges now occupy the ninth position in the league standings but they actually aren’t too many points behind the leading pack. A win against Chippa could make a significant difference to their campaign and Barker senses that too.
"Against Wits, the players played well and I have confidence in our team. Defensively we were very organized and we just need to start converting upfront where we have been chopping and changing our attack through an assortment of injuries," Barker told the club’s website.
"Chippa are a tough team and we will respect them for the way they have played this season, however, they are above us on the log standings and I think we need the points more they do because even if they lose and we win, they’ll still be ahead of us on points."
While Aces have recently encountered some adversity, Barker has never stopped believing in the team’s ability and thinks that the players still have a considerable amount to offer during this campaign.
He added: "We’re still one of the best teams in the PSL and we need to believe in ourselves and not to look down."
