Cape Town - Steve Barker says he is satisfied with the start to his AmaZulu career, having guided the team to four points from three matches.
A 10-man Usuthu secured a 1-1 draw with Maritzburg United on Friday night to add to the 2-1 win Barker earned in his first game in charge, against former club AmaTuks.
He believes his side are ready to turn the corner and feels they are already becoming a more difficult side to beat.
"The character the players showed, they upped their feelings and they are happy about themselves, so yeah - the days of looking at AmaZulu as three points are gone," Barker said.
"We are not a charity club, so if they want points from us they have to really work hard and that's what I want - that belief.
"When I came to the club they had four points from 11 games. We now have four points from three games, so this is something to build on.
“We just need to be more clinical in front of goal," he concluded.
