Cape Town - Maritzburg United head coach Clive Barker admits his side is under immense pressure, but is convinced a single goal could change everything.
The Team of Choice fell to a 3-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Premiership on Saturday.
The last time Maritzburg scored a league goal was in a 4-1 defeat to Mpumalanga Black Aces in September and, as a result, they are rooted firmly to the bottom of the table with just one point from their eight games so far.
Despite the lack of goals, wins and even points, Barker maintains that his side is playing well and says that if they can just get one goal, it could prove to be a turning point for their season.
"We are under pressure, there is no doubt about that," Barker told KickOff.
"I think we played in patches and I thought at times we controlled the game but we didn't set up chances.
"I still believe there were good things we did well on the field. We passed the ball accurately but sometimes gave the ball away in silly situations.
"They took their goals and a goal was always going to change it. It was always going to be tough playing against Sundowns, they are top of the log.
"We need a goal desperately and if we can get that one I am quite sure it will change our fortunes."
