Johannesburg - Golden Arrows have wasted no time in appointing a new coach following the resignation of Muhsin Ertugral.
The Durban-based outfit have brought former coach, Manqoba Mngqithi, back to the club for his second spell in charge.
The 41-year-old coach helped Abafana Bes’thende to the only trophy in their history, back in 2009, when they hammered Ajax Cape Town in the MTN8 final, and the club will now be hoping that he can bring more silverware to them following his return.
It was only last night that Ertugral resigned from his position as head coach of the Durban-based outfit, and while it was thought that Shaun Bartlett would take over in the short-term, the club have appointed Mngqithi.
A statement on the Arows website said, “Lamontville Golden Arrows welcome back Manqoba Mngqithi who was an important part of the growth of the Arrows team both as regards with the identification of young talent and the development of the Arrow’s style. It is fantastic to have him back with us and we are certain the club can expect an immediate, and positive, change not only in the way we play but the results achieved.”
Mngqithi, who has been fired twice over the last year or so, by AmaZulu and then Chippa United, will now be looking to get his coaching career back on track with the club where he did his best work.
